Supporting cancer care in Atlantic Canada. Learn More.

Help us 'go the distance' to support families and find a cure!

Nova Scotia has the highest cancer rates in Canada. Currently, 1 in 2 are diagnosed in their lifetime; 1 in 3 patients will not survive. But cancer does not care about provincial boundaries! That’s why I am riding in the 11th annual BMO Ride for Cancer to help fund life-saving care.

With 1 in 2 diagnosed, none of us is untouched by cancer, indirectly, or - like me - directly.

The BMO Ride for Cancer community will equip QEII Health Sciences Centre experts with the diagnostic tools they need to deliver some of Canada’s most leading-edge cancer care available; care that supports patients, their families and friends too.

Funds raised by our 2025 BMO Ride for Cancer community will unlock more precise, targeted therapies that have fewer side effects and allow for earlier detection of cancer recurrence for patients. Those are incredibly meaningful advancements.

With every dollar you donate to my Ride, you’re bringing us closer to a future where precision oncology WILL save and change the lives of Nova Scotians, and benefit patients across Canada by that advancement.

My cancer treatment experience was an emotionally uplifting one. I'm so grateful to be able to Ride again this year, that I'm going the long distance, literally and figuratively. Please donate to my Ride today!

Why the BMO Ride, Again?

Yes, I live in Ontario. Prince Edward County to be more precise.

But! I also live in Halifax, being blessed with grandchildren in both PEC and HRM!

Yes! I received excellent and compassionate cancer treatment care at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre in 2024 and am so grateful to them!

But, in 2023 I "got to know" the cardiac ward at QEII Health Sciences Centre in Halifax as a result of what was supposed to be a regular run (through Camp Hill Cemetery that day). I'm grateful for the compassionate and excellent care received there too.

So, "yes" the BMO Ride for Cancer hits two important causes for me, QEII and cancer care. But this year, I'm riding as a treatment "graduate" and decided to go the long distance. Training has begun, but I'll need help!

Why not join me on your bike, or by a donation?
