Let's Fight Cancer Again in 2024!

Nova Scotia has the highest cancer rates in all of Canada.  1 in 3 patients will not survive!  To help combat these alarming stats, our BMO Ride for Cancer community is rallying like never before to introduce liquid biopsy technology that will help determine if a patient’s cancer is cured, if it has returned, and if so, how best to treat it.  This technology is a true game changer.   

But this only tells part of the story.  Imagine sitting next to a family member when they hear the heart-wrenching words "you have cancer".  Imagine the real-life scenario of holding the hand of a loved one while they suffer through yet another chemotherapy treatment.  Or even worse, imagine being by the side of the most important person in your world when cancer takes another life.  It happens far too often and it is time to make a change, to make a difference, and I am going to join the fight. 

On Saturday, September 28th I will ride in a one-day, 100km cycling event with the goal of raising $3,000.  But there is a twist… if I can reach $5,000… I will up the 100km ride to 160km and earn every extra dollar you are generous enough to date.  Yes, that will mean an entire day of pedalling in the name of making a difference.  Thanks to so many generous people, over the course of the last two years I have been fortunate enough to raise over $12,100 to support the battle against cancer.
