Every KM Matters
When I signed up for this ride for the first time back in 2020, it was a commitment to a great cause. But as the years go by, and the kilometers add up, the reasons I am on this bike have become incredibly personal. Cancer isn't just a statistic; it is hitting close to home for so many people I care about.
This year, I am pedaling for the people in my corner who are facing this disease right now. I am riding for my co-worker, David, and my friend, Kyra, who are both undergoing treatments and battling cancer today. Their strength and resilience are a daily reminder of why this fight matters.
I am also riding in memory of Amanda, a former colleague I was incredibly fond of, whom we sadly lost last year. I carry her memory with me on every stretch of the road.
Ultimately, I am doing this for the people we’ve lost, the people currently fighting, and—just as importantly—for the individuals who haven’t been diagnosed yet but will one day have to rely on the vital, life-saving care at the QEII Cancer Centre.
Every dollar raised stays right here in our community, helping to fund advanced medical equipment and patient support. If you are able to donate, please know that your generosity means the world to me, to David, to Kyra, and to everyone relying on the QEII.
Thank you so much for your support!
