Hi Friends,

I'm getting very personal here.  When my mother, Janette, was undergoing treatment for her Stage 4 ovarian cancer she had to be taken for frequent imaging.  This meant moving her from her chair or bed and transferring her to another floor-often for long periods of time.  Once, she was gone for an inordinate length of time and I grew very concerned.  It turns out that she fell asleep, on a gurney in a hallway and was forgotten!  This process is very disruptive; patients are fatigued, weak, nauseous and experiencing physical pain.  

Funds raised, from YOU, will bring Nova Scotia's FIRST relocatable MRI.  MRI scans are a CRITICAL step in helping to diagnose cancer, understanding location, planning treatments and determining if those treatments are working.

Waiting, for me, as a daughter of a cancer patient was difficult; the anxiety of waiting for a result seemed endless.  Imagine what patients are going through.

A relocatable MRI will help scan more patients and it WILL impact wait times.  And YOU can help bring this innovative technology to Nova Scotia.  It will benefit, perhaps, even someone you know and love.

Friends, as we get closer to ride day, I ask that you consider making a donation to our team, the Witchy Warriors.  I have reached my fundraising goal but I'm asking that you help my partner, Lisa, who is training and riding through a physical injury.  She's far too humble to make this ask herself-fortunately, I'm not.   ;)  Our broomsticks bend but they shall not break.

The Witchy Warriors Wage War!

The Witchy Warriors are trading our broomsticks for bicycles and saddling up to help fund lifesaving, world-class cancer care for all Nova Scotians.  Nova Scotia has the highest cancer rates in Canada. Currently, 1 in 2 are diagnosed in their lifetime and 1 in 3 patients will not survive. 

We've all been impacted by cancer.  We wear the scars on our bodies and in our hearts.  We ride in honour of those we've lost, keeping their memories close in every kilometer.
