I'm fundraising for Ride for Cancer
One in two Canadians will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
I could not have imagined how profoundly cancer has influenced my life – and continues to impact it - as more people I know and love have to face this challenge.
My life has been profoundly influenced by the loss of 2 amazing women – Sarah Gordon, Joyce Boyce, a good friend, and the survival of 1 amazing young lady – Chloe Davis. Add to that this year my father and uncle on their own journeys with prostate cancer. Recently we lost an amazing cancer physician and leader who provided care to Sarah – Dr. Stephen Couban, to the disease he helped so many overcome.
I am choosing to ride for those in need today, and for those who will be in need tomorrow.
By supporting my ride you are joining the fight against blood cancers, will play a crucial role in purchasing a critical state-of-art cervical cancer diagnostic unit to stop cervical cancer in its tracks, and help bring Atlantic Canada’s first surgical robotic system to treat prostate cancer with more precision, faster, and decrease the chances of it advancing or recurring.
Think about that – we can prevent a woman from having cancer – a daughter, sister, mother – imagine how that would feel to a family - a woman you know or love - to hear that cancer had been stopped and they can live a full life – have children…… You can help make that happen!
We - you and I and our families deserve this. We have all been touched by cancer in some way.
Cancer is big and cancer journeys are never easy – so I have set a big goal. In my life I know the power of a team and what great teams can accomplish – I am asking you become part of my team on this journey. I smashed my goal last year with over 100 supporters and hope to do so again this year! (average gift was $100 - please consider that - however I am grateful for all donations - regardless of size!!)
Can we become 130 strong to match the 130km challenge I have set for myself?
Your donation today WILL make a difference for Atlantic Canadians facing a cancer diagnosis.
Thank you for your generosity!
