BMO ride

In 2021 my dad was diagnosed with late stage melanoma skin cancer. The cancer had spread to his lymph nodes, with the risk of spreading to other organs. Typically, this diagnosis would have given him a 30% survival rate, but because of relentless research and progress, a novel treatment was developed for melanoma called ImmunoTherapy. It works by arming the immune system to fight the cancer rather than suppress it with chemotherapy.  This treatment in Nova Scotia started shortly before my dad’s diagnosis and without it, the outcome likely would have been different.

Today, 4 years later my dad is healthy and completely cancer free.  This story is proof that donations like this matter and make a difference.

This ride is in celebration of all those with stories like my dad and in memory of those who passed away including my Aunt Diane who passed away at 53 of colon cancer, Madeline’s grandfather Phil Healey (78) and her mentor Markus Kienast (55)

Thank you so much for your support.  We will see you out on the road!
