I'm on a mission to support individuals facing cancer
Nova Scotia has the highest cancer rates in Canada. Currently, one in two people are diagnosed in their lifetime, and one in three patients will not survive. That’s why I am riding in the 11th annual BMO Ride for Cancer -- to help fund life-saving care for family, friends, neighbours.
Would I like to target prevention? You bet! But that's not within my reach today.
Still, the BMO Ride for Cancer community will equip our QEII experts with the diagnostic tools they need to deliver some of Canada’s most leading-edge cancer care available — ensuring our loved ones have the best possible chance of conquering cancer.
Funds raised by our 2025 BMO Ride for Cancer community will unlock more precise, targeted therapies with fewer side effects and allow for earlier detection of cancer recurrence for patients being treated at the QEII Cancer Centre, Atlantic Canada’s largest and most specialized cancer treatment hospital.
With every dollar you donate to my Ride, you’re bringing us closer to a future where precision oncology WILL save and change the lives of Nova Scotians.
Please donate to my Ride today!

Q. Why doesn't the government cover these specialized tools for effective cancer treatment?
A. The provincial government has numerous budget priorities and interests, including education, economic development, recruiting more doctors, and housing. While it allocates funds broadly throughout the health care system, funds raised through the BMO Ride for Cancer are targeted specifically to cutting-edge equipment that is used in front-line patient care at the QEII Health Science Centre. Each year, the QEII Foundation consults with cancer care experts working in the hospital to determine what they need to improve the lives of cancer patients and chooses equipment that can be purchased quickly to have the greatest impact on patient care. In this way, the BMO Ride for Cancer helps to make sure cancer patients in Atlantic Canada have access to some of the latest technologies by supplementing operating funds from the government.
