One Last Ride — Help Us Find a Cure for Mike
This year marks the grand finale of the BMO Ride for Cancer and my 10th year travelling home to Nova Scotia to ride in support of our team captain and friend, Mike Parsons.
The organizers have announced that this will be the final year for the Ride, so our team, Mikey’s Bikers, is hoping to make it a big one.
Mike’s cancer was diagnosed much earlier than it otherwise might have been, thanks to new diagnostic equipment funded by proceeds from the very first Ride for Cancer held in the region. He is living proof that the money raised through this event makes a meaningful difference for patients and families facing this disease.
I’ve known Mike for more than 30 years. We met in university, and over the decades I’ve watched him live a healthy, active, and engaged life. He keeps himself in great shape, loves life, and is surrounded by an incredible network of family and friends. He is also a textbook example of how random and unfair cancer can be.
That’s why we ride.
Mikey’s Bikers are on a mission to help find a cure for Mike’s cancer long before he needs it. As this incredible event comes to a close, we want to honour its impact, support the people still facing cancer, and help fund the research, equipment, and care that can change outcomes.
Please consider donating to my Ride today. Every contribution matters, and I’m deeply grateful for your support.
